Steps to securing a speaker for your event 

1. Have a celebrity speaker or speakers in mind?  Burns provides their fee and availability. Don’t have a celebrity speaker in mind? A handful of key questions reveal if a sports speaker or celebrity speaker fits your event and budget. 
    
2. A customized list of sports speakers is emailed within 24-48 hours (or less) depending upon your timetable. To see an example of a customized list, click on Customized Speaker List.
     
3. After reviewing the customized celebrity speaker list, Burns can either make a firm offer to the speaker or go back to step one with additional feedback and provide additional suggestions. 
    
4. Once a sports speaker is selected, a firm offer sheet is sent for the customer's signature. The firm offer sheet provides the sports speaker with the pertinent details for the event. The firm offer sheet is binding.
    
5. As soon as the firm offer sheet is signed and returned to Burns, it is presented for his/her decision. 
    
6. Once a celebrity speaker accepts the firm offer, a contract is sent to the customer. Customer approves the contract and then it is sent to the celebrity speaker for signature. Once speaker signs the contract, customer signs the contract.
    
7. Now, Burns works on confirming travel arrangements, event logistics, and all other details.  You will be working on event logistics with the same team that provided the customized speaker list., You will NOT be passed off to a new event coordinator that isn’t updated on your organization and event. At this point, a celebrity speaker biography, speaker photo, pre-program questionnaire and invoices are sent to the customer.  The pre-program questionnaire will provide additional information making customizing a speech simple. 
    
8. If a brief conference call is needed with the celebrity speaker prior to the event, Burns will schedule it at a mutually agreeable time.
     
9. Prior to the event, a final itinerary will be sent to both customer and celebrity speaker. Speaker will be contacted and all final details confirmed.
    
10. Sports speaker arrives fully prepared and in position to help create a very successful event.
